Learn With Us / Assessment
Assessment should make competence visible.
ATC uses assessment to understand what a learner knows, understands and can do against the requirements of the programme. The route should be clear, fair and connected to safe practice.
The detail
Clear information for a confident next step.
Evidence with a purpose
Depending on the programme, evidence may include written work, knowledge questions, portfolios, work products, observation, witness testimony, professional discussion, practical demonstration or structured assessment. ATC will explain the method, criteria, deadlines and submission route for the course.
Feedback and next steps
Useful feedback identifies what has been achieved, what needs improvement and what the learner can do next. Where the rules allow, ATC may provide a resubmission or further assessment opportunity. Highfield requirements apply where Highfield is the awarding organisation.
Fair access to assessment
Learners should tell ATC as early as possible about a disability, health condition, language need or significant event that may affect access or performance. Reasonable adjustments and special consideration must preserve the assessment standard and follow the appropriate approval route.
ATC and Highfield
ATC is the training provider and approved centre. Highfield is the awarding organisation for relevant qualifications and controls its own requirements for assessment and certification. ATC cannot promise to change an outcome that belongs to Highfield.
