Accessibility Statement

Achievers Training College is committed to making information and learning accessible to as many people as possible. This statement covers the public website and describes the support available for learners. It is a commitment to continuous improvement, not a claim that every page or third-party system is perfect today.

Website draft — legal and operational review required.

This document is a substantial working draft for ATC. Confirm the bracketed or course-specific details and obtain appropriate legal and operational review before relying on or publishing it as an approved policy.

Purpose and scope

Purpose

Explain ATC's commitment to an accessible public website and learning experience, with a clear route for feedback and alternatives.

Scope

The ATC website, published documents, learning materials, teaching, assessment and approved third-party learning platforms where relevant.

Responsibilities

ATC

Use accessible content practices, prioritise material barriers, provide an alternative where practicable and review the statement after significant change.

Content and course teams

Use meaningful structure, readable content, alternative text and accessible formats when creating or updating material.

Visitors and learners

Tell ATC about a barrier, the page or activity affected and the format or support that would help.

How the policy works

  1. Report a website, document, form or learning barrier through the published ATC email route with the page or course details.

  2. ATC will acknowledge the issue, offer an available alternative or support route and prioritise a fix according to impact.

  3. For learner-specific barriers, use the Reasonable Adjustments Policy as well as this statement.

  4. Record known limitations and review the statement when the website, platform or accessibility expectations change.

Website commitment

ATC aims to follow recognised accessibility good practice, including WCAG principles of perceivable, operable, understandable and robust content. We work to provide readable structure, keyboard-friendly navigation, meaningful headings, descriptive links, useful alternative text, visible focus states, responsive layouts and sufficient colour contrast.

Learning experience

Accessibility also depends on course materials, teaching, assessment and third-party platforms. ATC will discuss accessible formats, communication support, assistive technology, reasonable adjustments and alternative arrangements where available. Highfield Vault, when used for the Level 3 Adult Care programme, is a separate third-party resource environment; learners should also consult its provider accessibility information.

Known limitations

Some older documents, embedded content or external services may not fully meet the experience ATC wants to provide. ATC should maintain a current list of known limitations and planned fixes before publication. A limitation does not prevent you from asking for an accessible alternative or individual support.

Feedback and contact

Tell us if you cannot access a page, document, form or learning activity. Email info@achieverstrainingcollege.co.uk with the page or course, the problem, the format you need and how we can contact you. We will aim to respond helpfully and consider an alternative route while a fix is explored.

Enforcement and review

If ATC cannot resolve an accessibility issue, we will explain the limitation and any available alternative. Learners can also use the Complaints Policy or request a reasonable adjustment. This statement will be reviewed as the website, learning systems and accessibility expectations develop.
