Safeguarding & Inclusion
Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Policy

Purpose and scope
Purpose
Promote dignity, belonging, fair opportunity and freedom from unlawful discrimination across the ATC learning community.
Scope
Recruitment, enrolment, teaching, assessment, support, communication, placement, progression and certification, including protected and other relevant characteristics.
Responsibilities
ATC
Design fair processes, challenge discrimination and consider the impact of decisions on different learners.
Staff and tutors
Use inclusive language and practice, make approved adjustments and respond to concerns without victimisation.
Learners
Respect difference, avoid discriminatory or harassing behaviour and speak up when a barrier or concern arises.
How the policy works
Raise an inclusion concern with a tutor or ATC contact, describing the event, people involved, impact and support needed.
ATC will assess immediate safety, accessibility and safeguarding needs and choose an appropriate informal or formal route.
Consider reasonable adjustments, special consideration, alternative formats or mediation where suitable and lawful.
Record themes and actions for improvement without publishing confidential learner information.
Protected characteristics and inclusion
ATC will not discriminate unlawfully because of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation or another protected or relevant personal characteristic. We also recognise barriers linked to caring responsibilities, socio-economic circumstances, language, digital access and neurodiversity.
Fair treatment in practice
Decisions about admission, learning, assessment, support, conduct and progression should be based on relevant requirements and evidence. ATC will challenge direct and indirect discrimination, harassment, victimisation, stereotyping and exclusion. Reasonable adjustments and special consideration are available through their separate policies.
Accessibility and participation
ATC will work to make the website, learning materials, teaching and assessment accessible. Tell ATC about a barrier early so that a reasonable adjustment, alternative format, support arrangement or referral can be considered. The Accessibility Statement explains the website commitment; it does not limit individual support.
Speaking up
A learner can raise a concern with a tutor, ATC contact or info@achieverstrainingcollege.co.uk. Use the Complaints Policy for a formal service concern, the Safeguarding Policy for risk of harm and the Appeals Policy if an academic decision was affected. Reports will be handled respectfully and retaliation is not acceptable.
Training and improvement
ATC will use feedback, complaints, participation information and quality review to identify barriers and improve practice. Any monitoring information should be proportionate, secure and used fairly. Internal quality records are not public documents and confidential learner information will not be published.
